Description

Nourish – a Woman’s Day Retreat to find your way back home to your heart.

As a woman in my 50’s with children still at home, working in 2 jobs I know what it means to juggle many balls in the air and how overwhelming all the external factors can feel at times. I also know from years of practice and participating in retreats and yoga sessions where space is held for me and where I hold space how healing, grounding and clarifying those spaces can be.

I have had niggles for many months to create a day retreat for women again, the first one in many years. So here we are. A day just for you with nourishing yoga sessions, meditations, sound baths, connection circles, and time to listen, take notes, be creative and really be there for ourselves to see what you need and what your body and soul are asking for.

When thinking of the timing for the retreats autumn and spring felt best.

The Autumn retreat is going to be on Saturday, 3rd May 2025, 8 am – 6 pm

The Autumn retreat is around the new moon phase

The Spring retreat is going to be on Saturday 4th October 2025, 8 am – 6 pm

The Spring retreat is close to the full moon.

Both retreats will be at Taruna College, 33 Te Mata Peak Road, Havelock North 4130

The retreat will be in the Korimako Hall next to the Homestead. Please park at the parking space by the yurt and then walk up the short path to the homestead.

If you have the financial means you might want to book yourself some accommodation and spend the next day relaxing and reflecting on your experiences.I can be really beautiful to elongate the experience and make a weekend of it.

Throughout the retreat there will be several gentle movement practices with many options to adapt the practice to your needs, we will have spells of stillness in meditation to be able to listen in, we will have time for reflection, journaling or being creative in your journal. There will be a selection of methods for reflections that resonate with you and inspire you. You will have the possibility to create your own Aromatherapy blend with my guidance. I will use my Tibetan Singing Bowls throughout some of the sessions including a Sound Bath Meditation. And we will connect in a circle to share our insights & inspirations if we wish. All the practices are optional. Taruna has beautiful gardens that you can go to wander in or just take time to rest in the hall.

Ruby from @heart.to.hands will provide us with a nourishing warm breakfast and lunch. Everything will be vegan and healthy. There will be a range of herbal teas throughout the day and some ceremonial cacao if you wish to have some.

You will need to bring the following items to the retreat:

  • Yoga mat
  • Yoga bolster (If you don’t have one a big rolled up blanket or cushion works as well)
  • Yoga block (K-mart have really reasonable ones
  • 1-2 warm blankets
  • A cushion
  • An eye pillow
  • Please wear layers and something you comfortably move in. You might want to bring some wooly socks or slippers – the hall has wooden floors and we can’t wear shoes there.
  • Your water bottle
  • A nice journal and pens you like to write and create with (Humanity Books in Hastings have really nice ones. My favorites are Moleskin Journals – I have been using them for many years. If you are more of a visual person, not really the writer you could bring some old magazines, scissors, maybe some watercolours and brushes, whatever you know you will feel inspired by to track emotions, intentions, things you want to manifest, things you want to let go of.
  • Sometimes it can be really nice to bring a special crystal, a special photo or something that feels really special to you to soak up the energy of the day.

About Silke:

I have practiced yoga personally for over 20 years now and holding space for people for 8 years. I usually guide Gentle Yoga (a mix of Hatha Yoga & strength work with Yin Yoga) and Yin Yoga sessions with Tibetan Sound Bowl healing and for 1:1 Reiki, Sound Healing & Aromatherapy sessions. I am also a Level 3 Reiki Master and have studied Aromatherapy with 2 teachers.

Holding space for people to be still, connect with themselves, listen to their bodies and souls, creating time and space for healing to take place, holding space for people to connect with other like minded people and to simply be, learn and practice together to make the most of this wild ride here on earth is what makes my heart and soul sing. I really look forward to being with you all and having a day together to connect to ourselves, to each other and to the world around us in a more present and loving way.
