I recently reconnected with an almost daily practice of sitting in meditation.
When I do sit in meditation I prefer to do it at night and I try to create a bit of ritual around it. I usually roll a nice oil on, dim the light and snuggle myself in comfortably. If I feel like it I might light a candle. I always set a timer for myself, so I don’t wonder how long I have been there. If I feel like sitting longer after the timer has gone off, I just do, but I know I have done the time I was I aiming for. I usually roll my blend on before meditation around the neck and the third eye and crown chakra, then rub it in and inhale deeply. This also creates an aromatic anchor for you and if you do this every time you meditate, your brain “knows” what is coming and you may drop into your meditations quicker. You don’t need this to meditate, but it adds a nice touch.
I have just been hovering over my oil box and created a blend for my meditation practice.
The 10 ml bottle will last you months if you just use it for your meditation.
Frankincense, Myrrh, Copaiba, Guaiacwood (similar to Palo Santo) are all tree oils (resin and wood) and have been used by different cultures in spiritual rituals for centuries.
All of these oils are grounding, soothing, calming (among many physical benefits as well) – the perfect combo for a meditation blend.
To bring a bit of lightness into the blend I added Blue Tansy and Helichrysum because they are such gentle, floral oils with calming properties and 2 of my favorite emotional healing oils. I also added Melissa, which is the oil of light and one of the highest vibrational oils that exist.

Melissa vibrates at a very high light frequency and travels very far. The energy it brings into the Spirit comes from a place more distant than we can imagine, beyond the sun, beyond the stars. Melissa is a spiritual conduit and is thus a precious gift of the heavens at any time, but perhaps is especially appreciated before meditation or prayer.
