Mixed Media, Watercolour & gold thread

This artwork was inspired by the earth and a sense of simple grounding. I created a “solid space” through squares like a foundation, but also leaving space for flexibility thought the spaces between the squares and a sense of interconnectedness through the fold thread connecting all squares. When I look at this artwork it gives me a sense of calm, peace, grounding and beauty.

Each artwork is unique. I create the watercolour first and see where the stitching fits in.
